Birds
Turning your eyes to the skies, Loch Linnhe is home to many different types of birds, some rare, some not so rare. Whatever they are, spotting them can be an entertaining and exciting part of the trip.
Keep a look out for top raptors the Sea Eagle (white tailed Eagle) and Golden Eagles as they gracefully ride the air currents before diving at high speed when a potential meal is sighted.
On the surface of the water there is the Red Breasted Merganser (a fish eating duck with a thin, saw like beak), the male of which has a blue green head and crest, with the female a reddy brown neck and crest.
Spotting the distinctive, largely black and white Eider Duck should be easy as it is also the largest and heaviest duck in Britain. Speedy Cormorants and Shags often flash past the boat while the large and stately Heron flexes it huge wings to grace viewers with its presence.
Always present of course are representatives of the Gull family, cheekily darting about in search of food.
